PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear cover of a tiller capable of forming the tilled surface soil into various mellow states. SOLUTION: When a tip engaging part 28a of a lock pin 28 is inserted into an engaging hole 19a of a pressing rod 19 by moving and regulating the lock pin 28, the rear cover 11 is locked at a prescribed position to enable the tillage operation to be carried out while hardening the surface soil by slightly pressing the tilled surface soil. When the engaging part 28a of the lock pin 28 is pulled out from the engaging hole 19a of the pressing rod 19 by moving and regulating the lock pin 28, the rear cover 11 can freely be moved upper and lower to enable the tillage operation to be carried out while forming the tilled surface soil into the mellow state. When the engaging part 28a of the lock pin 28 is inserted into an inducing hole 19b of the pressing rod 19, the pressing rod 19 can be moved upper and lower within the range of the inducing hole 19b to enable the rear cover 11 to be freely moved upper and lower within a prescribed range to enable the tillage operation to be carried out while forming the tilled surface soil into the prescribed mellow state. In this way, the tillage operation can be carried out while forming the tilled surface soil into the various mellow states.
