PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side shift carriage with the improved strength of the side shift carriage and the improved visibility of an operator. SOLUTION: The side shift carriage 10 has a slide guide 18, and the slide guide 18 comprises an upwardly protruded lip 32 for slidably supporting a slide 40 of a side shift frame 17 and a reinforced portion 38 which is forwardly protruded from a lower side of a front side 36 of the lip 32 and extended at least over most part of the length in the transverse direction of the slide guide 18. The strength of a beam of the slide guide 18 is considerably improved by the forwardly protruded reinforced portion 38, the slide guide 18 can thus be arranged at a high position, and the forward view of the operator over a top of the slide guide 18 is not hindered by maximizing the space in the perpendicular direction between the upper and lower slide guides and the dimension of the lever-action arm in order to reduce the magnitude of the component 26 of the force in the horizontal direction. |
