PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust a recording head accurately and easily after replacement when an ink jet recorder comprises a plurality of independently replaceable recording heads. SOLUTION: The ink jet recorder comprises a plurality of independently replaceable recording heads each of which performs recording by sticking ink liquid drops of a plurality of recording colors onto a recording medium. The ink jet recorder further comprises a control means 22 which shifts the timing of outputting ink liquid drops from each recording head depending on the positional shift of each recording head.
