PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the adhesion of scale to the surface of an electrode in a water purifier in which a metal hydrate is generated by electrolysis, the flocculated flock of suspended substances is formed by the flocculation effect of the metal hydrate to purify water. SOLUTION: The water purifier has the electrode comprising an anode and a cathode, a flocculation means 8 which generates the metal hydrate by the electrolysis by passing the current through the electrode and flocculates the suspended substances contained in bathtub water electrically, a filtration means 11 which is arranged downstream from the flocculation means 8 and filters the flocculated suspended substances physically, and an electrolytic ionic water generating means 18 for removing the blocks of scale formed by part of the metal hydrate adherent to the flocculation means. The adhesion of the scale of aluminum oxide in a flocculation electrode part is prevented, the maintenance of the flocculation electrode part is made unnecessary over a long period, the elevation of the voltage between electrodes is decreased, and a good cleaning function can be sustained. |
