The invention relates to a method for producing an electrode coated with biomolecules. Said method involves the following steps: (a) providing a composite which is made of an electrically conductive substance that is bound to synthetic material; (b) providing a composite which is also made of an electrically conductive substance that is bound to synthetic material, and; (c) treating the composite with a solution containing the biomolecule, whereby the biomolecule is bound to the surface of the synthetic material.
