The invention relates to a method for monitoring data transfer between a data carrier card and a data carrier card reading device. Said method enables the direction of data transfer between data carrier card (1) and reading device (2) to be successfully identified by bringing about a potential difference with the aid of a manipulation circuit; by scanning the voltage of the connecting conductor between the data carrier card (1) and the data carrier card reading device (2) before and after the manipulation circuit; and by producing voltages UC2 and UK2, said voltages being dependent on the aforementioned voltages. By identifying the direction, both sent and received data can be selected and, with the help of appropriate additional devices, processed and displayed. |
