Class 7(3) A precombustion chamber insert 3 with an inclined outlet passage 4 is provided at its upper end with an inclined surface 6 forming a pocket into which the fuel is injected, whereby mixing of the fuel with the air rotating in the precombustion chamber 2 is prevented until ignition takes place. A narrow bore passage 7 opening into the pocket 6 facilitates starting. In a modification, Fig. 3, the surface 6 is provided with a transverse groove 8 connected to the outlet 4 by a groove 9 and in a further modification, Fig. 4, the surface 6 is provided with grooves or corrugations 10. |
