PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder that solves problems such as the cost, the access speed and the recording capacity sticking to pre-alarm/post-alarm recording and attains long time recording before/after alarm while recording data in detail before and after the alarm. SOLUTION: The recorder is provided with a recording section 3 that records a video image from a supervisory camera to a ring memory and an alarm input section 1 that receives an alarm signal raised externally on occurrence of a fault in a supervisory object, and also with a control section 2 that controls to continue recording of video images of a prescribed number per second when no alarm signal is received and leaves part of the recorded video images in a prescribed unit when no alarm signal is received, but overwire-records the video images whose number is more than the prescribed number for a prescribed time when the alarm signal is received.
