PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a soundproof vibration isolator which facilitates its installation work, and can bring about good effect on the strength of a building. SOLUTION: The vibration isolator is arranged at a location where two building materials intersect each other via its upper and lower surfaces, and obtained by molding rubber or an elastic plastic having soundproofing and vibration isolation functions imparted thereto. The isolator has a flat plate portion fixed to one of the two building materials to be framed, and a rise portion rising therefrom. The isolator allows the other one of the two building materials to be framed on the rise portion to be arranged in a manner making contact therewith.
