PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which permits confirming that the flow of optical contact liquid is settled with a simple constitution and duplicating a hologram which is highly producible and excellent. SOLUTION: In this hologram duplicating method, a recording film 1 is stuck together with a master disk 35 of hologram, the optical contact liquid 12 is dropped, a reflection-free place 34 which is subjected to reflection-free coating is laminated in such a manner that the optical contact liquid 12 spreads over the whole recording surface and the hologram is duplicated on the recording film 1 by irradiating with hologram recording light. Therein, the optical contact liquid 12 is selected so as to be slightly different in refractive index from the recording film 1 and the reflection-free plate 34, the recording film 1 is irradiated with detecting light 71 having the wavelength to which the recording film is not sensitive prior to the film is irradiated with the hologram recording light, the hourly change of repeated reflection interference fringes in the optical contact liquid due to thickness irregularity of the optical contact liquid 12 is monitored and, thereby, the settlement of the optical contact liquid 12 is confirmed.
