A compound of formula 1, including stereochemically isomeric forms thereof and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, wherein: R is a member selected from the group consisting of hydroxyC2-6alkyl and carboxyC1-6alkyloxyC1-6alkyl; and -A-B- is a moiety having the formula selected from the group consisting of -CO-CH2- -CH2-CO- -CH2-CH2- -CHOH-CH2- -CHOH-CHOH- -CH2-CHOH- or -CO-CO-. The compound may be used in the manufacture of a medicament to prevent or treat allergies, inflammations, various types of ocular diseases and different types of muscle hyperreactivity.
