Packing material (1) for maturing food products, especially cheese (4), consists of at least two sheets (2, 3) joined along glued zones (5) by means of adhesive (6). Glued zones (5) are distributed over the surface of material in such manner as to limit numerous non-glued zones (7) permitting diffusion of steam and gas, and alternating with glued zones (5). The numbers and sizes of glued zones (5) and non-glued zones (7) are determined as function of gas and vapor permeability appropriate for food product to be packed.
