PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of parts in a magnet roll for magnetic brush development. SOLUTION: This magnet roll is equipped with a cylindrical sleeve 6 having aperture parts at both ends, a flange 7 flit in each of the aperture parts at both ends of the sleeve 6, a shaft 8 thrust in the sleeve 6 through a through-hole 7a in the center of the flange 7 and a columnar magnet 9 fixed on the shaft 8 in the sleeve 6. The flange 7 is constituted of magnetic substance, and a projection part 7b projecting to the shaft, 8 side at the through-hole 7a part of the flange 7 is constituted and magnetized.
