摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the gap between substrates with good accuracy while keeping good vertical electric conduction between the substrates and to make high quality image display possible in an electrooptical device having an electrooptical substance such as a liquid crystal held between a pair of substrates. SOLUTION: The electrooptical device is equipped with a gap material (54) regulating the gap between substrates, a first terminal (201) for vertical electric conduction, a second terminal (202) for vertical electric conduction formed on a second substrate (20) at the position facing the first terminal, and a vertical conducting material disposed between the first and second terminals and containing conductive fine particles. The gap (D) between the first and second terminals for vertical electric conduction is narrower than the gap (G) between the first and second substrates in a sealing region where a gap material is disposed. The particle diameter (d1) of the gap material is larger than the particle diameter (d2) of the conductive fine particles included in the vertical conducting material.
