PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oceanic-sound tomographic-data analytical method in which the position of the front of the Kuroshio Current can be estimated stably and simply. SOLUTION: On the basis of a sound-velocity profile which is found from an oceanic database (13), respective received signal series in an OAT experiment in the subarctic zone and the subtropical zone are calculated respectively (12). On the basis of the passage signal of an SOFAR channel from among the calculated series, an SOFAR average sound velocity in a sea area in the subarctic zone and that in the subtropical zone are calculated (15). On the basis of their calculated values, the change rate of the SOFSR average sound velocity with reference to the front of the Kuroshio Current is calculated (14). On the basis of the respective calculated values and an OAT observed value, the position of the front of the Kuroshio Current is estimated (12).
