摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a prime mover from being brought into an overspeed caused by slide of a hydraulic power transmission mechanism, in a variable speed controller for a continuously variable transmission having the transmission mechanism and a continuously variable speed mechanism. SOLUTION: The transmission mechanism judges whether a non-direct connection condition exists or not (S100). Whether a preliminarily calculated target input rotational speed Nint exceeds an upper limit value NinU of the target input rotational speed in the non-direct connection condition or not is judges when non-directly connected (S102). The upper limit value NinU is set at a rotational speed lower than an upper limit of a control range for a direct connection condition. When the target speed Nint exceeds the upper limit value NinU, the target speed Nint is substituted with the upper limit value NinU. Since an input rotational speed of a CVT input shaft is controlled in a lower side, the overspeed of the prime mover is prevented even when the slide exists in the hydraulic power transmission.
