PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a band reinforced CRT, assuring rigidity without increasing a plate thickness, having a shrink band highly adhered to a panel skirt portion of a face panel and achieving the optimum tightening force of the shrink band, while solving the problem on a conventional parallel shrink band that lack of the rigidity of the band itself and short adhesion to the face panel precludes effective explosion proof. SOLUTION: Protruded surface molding 3a is applied to an inner wall portion of the shrink band for improving the rigidity and the adhesion to the panel skirt portion of the face panel. Further, the ratio of the displacement of a recess in the center of the face panel, caused by evacuation of the CRT, when the shrink band is provided, to that when no shrink band is provided, is made to be in a preset range, thus inhibiting an implosion phenomenon of the CRT.
