PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve exhaust efficiency in an exhaust process during producing a PDP. SOLUTION: In the PDP 201, a particulate water molecule decomposing material 19 having water molecule decomposing operation is arranged on a surface 148 at the side of a discharge space 51 of a MgO film 14. For example, a titanium oxide (TiO2), a zinc oxide (ZnO), a zirconium oxide (ZrO2) or a material containing at least one of them is applicable as the water molecule decomposing material 19. By irradiating the water molecule decomposing material 19 with a light containing a ultraviolet ray in the exhaust process, the water molecule decomposing material 19 decomposes water molecules into hydrogen (H2) and oxygen (O2). Thus, the re-adsorption of the water molecules to the MgO film 14 is reduced or prevented, improving exhaust efficiency in the exhaust process.
