PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for user's intervention in an original document and to enable a metadocument to operate during an idle cycle of a computer by handling a document as an active agent on life cycles of the creation and sharing of knowledge. SOLUTION: The information acquisition system is equipped with a metadocument 100 which is a metadocument including a pair of a document and a group of services relating to the document so that the document services include a process using part of the document and a scheduler 200 which selects one document service request from the group, starts and manages a communication with a service provider 210 satisfying the selected document service, and integrates the result obtained from the selected document service with the document.
