PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network management system that can efficiently conduct matching and quickly transmit accurate information to an operator supervising a network. SOLUTION: A state collection section 21 collects alarm information stored in a storage section of each device of a management object. An alarm generating section 23 receives alarm information sent from each device and generates alarm data in a form of adding attached information required for the alarm management. A fault detection section 22 uses the ping as a supervisory means to supervise a communication channel fault between network management systems as to all devices being components of the network. A state collection request section 31 receives a collection request from an alarm reception section 32 and makes a collection request to the state collection section 21. An alarm reception section 33 receives an alarm generated by the alarm generating section 23 to manage the generation and restoration of the alarm.
