The invention relates to a process for manufacturing a manually articulated profiled rigid bar, comprising a first step wherein on a strip of a suitable material, a succession of cross-section weakening zones relative to the longitudinal axis of said strip are obtained by shearing, said weakened zones including some polygonal slots whose symmetry axis is transverse in respect to the longitudinal axis of the strip and which are worked alternatively on either side of said axis and further including some cross-section weakening perforations obtained on straight transverse lines which pass through the vertices connected with semi-circular recesses of said polygonal slots, and a second step wherein the material strip is formed by means of a die, according to an open profile which terminates with free edges at the ends. The invention also relates to a profiled bar obtained by this process.
