摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interface accommodation system for packet-over SONET/SDH that can cope with even an increased channel speed at an integer multiple without changing the structure of switches. SOLUTION: In the case of accommodating a channel with an interface speed of a multiple of 4 such as an OC192 channel to a switch interface having only a cross connect capability at a basic interface speed for an OC48 channel, the system of this invention uses four switch interfaces 104 for the OC48 to cope with the interface speed. Through the configuration above, a switch section 14 has input ports (1)-(16) in and output ports (1)-(16) OUT, which respectively have a capacity of transferring channel packets at 2.46 Gbps. In the case of dividing a received variable length packet into fixed length packets, an input port information and a sequential number are added to the packets, and in the case of transferring the packet through the switch section employing switch interfaces, the switch side transfers the packets while confirming number of acceptable switching interfaces so as to avoid the throughput of the switch section from being decreased.</p>
