PROGRAM RESERVATION METHOD, SYSTEM AND DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program reservation system that can easily control program reservation by a plurality of broadcast receivers. SOLUTION: The system is provided with digital broadcast receivers (IRD (Integrated Receiver/Decoder) 1, 2) and a reservation controller 3 and the reservation controller 3 is communicatively connected to each of the IRDs with an interface in compliance with the IEEE 1394. For example, on the occurrence of double booking in program reservation in the IRD 1, the reservation controller 3 receives the reservation information with respect to the program reservation via the interface in compliance with the IEEE 1394. The reservation controller 3 allows any other broadcast receiver than the IRD 1 in the broadcast receivers to reserve a program based on the received reservation information by means of communication through the interface in compliance with the IEEE 1394.
