PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-functional peripheral device capable of shortening the transmitting time of data when transmitting the data from an external device connected to the multi-functional peripheral device to a side device of an opposite party connected through a line. SOLUTION: When transmitting mail data prepared by a slave unit to the device of the opposite party connected through the line, these mail data are first transmitted to a master unit and received by the master unit (S6). When the addition of a signature as one of identification information of the transmitting source slave unit is designated to the received mail data, the signature of that transmitting source slave unit previously stored in the mater unit is added by the master unit (S9). Besides, a mail address as identification information of the transmitting source slave unit and the transmitting date of the mail data are added by the master unit as well (S10) and afterwards transmitted to the device of the opposite party connected through the line (S12).
