<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize/thin a surface-mounting piezoelectric vibrator and simultaneously to improve impact resistance to falling or the like. SOLUTION: The package structure for piezoelectric vibrator is provided with a thin box-like base part 10, consisting of an insulating material and a transparent thin plate lid part 11. On one of or both the mounting surface of the base part and the inner surface of the lid part, in an area adjacent to a free terminal part 12b of a tuning fork type crystal vibrator 12 to be mounted in a cantilever style on an electrode pad 16 on the mounting surface by a conductive adhesive agent 17, a recess 18 is formed so that the free terminal part cannot make contact with the inner surface of the package, even if the crystal vibrator vibrates vertically with impulse from the outside. Concerning the internal dimension of the package, by suitably setting a distance from a fixed support point 16a of the crystal vibrator to the electrode pad side edge in the recess and a height from the base in the recess to the crystal vibrator, the rate of defective article generation caused by the falling impact is decreased workably.</p> |
