PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developer layer regulating member capable of forming a uniform developer thin layer for a long time with simple constitution and surely preventing the lowering of image quality such as a white stripe, and to provide a developing device using the same. SOLUTION: This developer layer forming member press-contacts with the surface of a developer carrier driven to be rotated in a state where it carries developer, forms the thin layer of developer on the surface of the developer carrier and also electrifies the developer. When it is assumed that the contact pressure per unit area of the developer layer forming member is P, the line pressure of the developer layer forming member is R and the width of a nip where the developer layer forming member abuts on the developer carrier is (d), the values satisfy following relation. (1) P<=3000 kg/m2 (2) Rd>=0.0015 kg. |
