PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sodium/sulfur battery, capable of maintaining the anti- corrosiveness of a battery jar and of improving a charging characteristic in the two-phase region. SOLUTION: A cylindrical positive pole conductive material 10 impregnating sodium as a positive pole active substance is provided in the battery jar, partially with an insulating layer 101, so that the contact face with the positive pole conductive material 10 is able to be approximately in parallel with the axial direction of a solid-electrolyte tube. The positive pole conductive material 10 is housed, so that it has a conductive interface 10A contacting with the solid-electrolyte tube and an insulating interface 10B, where an insulating layer 101 contacts with the solid-electrolyte tube 1. In addition to these, the solid- electrolyte tube is provided at the center of the positive pole conductive material 10, and a conductive layer 102 is provided on the outer surface of the positive pole conductive material 10, so that the insulating layer 101 does not come into contact with the battery jar.
