PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal processor, capable of performing the A/D conversion of practical multiple bits with inexpensive configuration and simple processing. SOLUTION: A dither signal is added to an inputted signal and is over- sampled by an A/D converter 7. A DSP 8 on the post-stage of the A/D converter 7 performs processing of demodulation for demodulating the signal by shifting a carrier frequency to 0 Hz, concerning a sampling data stream, filtering for removing unwanted mapping or noise and decimation for lowering a sampling frequency to a desired frequency but by suitably setting a carrier frequency, the sampling frequency of over-sampling and the desired sampling frequency, processing is synchronized and performed very easily. With such an arithmetic processing, the number of bits in data is increased, and the value of increased bits (low-order bits) is determined by a probability distribution, based on the dither signal. Thus, sampling data equal to sampling with this large number of bits can be provided.
