THERMOELECTRIC ELEMENT AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase junction area between elements and metal electrodes in thermoelectric element to improve yield in production. SOLUTION: The thermoelectric element is provided with a P-type element 3 composed of P-type thermoelectric semiconductor material, N-type element 4 composed of N-type thermoelectric semiconductor material, and substrates 2B and 2A with the metal electrodes 5 capable of forming paired PN junction by joining these different P-type and N-type elements 3 and 4 on it. The area of the metal electrodes facing to the elements when joined are formed larger than the area of electrodes joined before element formation.
