PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly efficient unit even at a low load in a multi-stage Peltier cooling unit. SOLUTION: A Peltier cooling unit 1 is provided with a Peltier module A for composing a first stage, and a control circuit 20 for switching the connection between modules B1 and B2 for composing a second stage in series and in parallel. At a low load, the modules are connected in series with a power supply device 21, thus decreasing an application voltage and improving COP. At a high load, the modules are connected in parallel, thus increasing the application voltage and increasing a temperature difference.
