Double linkage building window lock has housing (2) with a pivot plate (4) actuated by a rack (5) engaging with a gear wheel (6). Housing and rack are formed from a single piece by stamping and bending of a galvanized steel sheet. The housing has integral ribs (23,25) to receive the pivot plate and the gear shaft (27). The rack has openings (16) at one end to engage with the gear wheel to actuate the locking linkages in opposite directions.
