PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery, constructed by housing in a battery can an electrode-plate group having wound a belt-like anode plate and cathode plate via a separator, that can prevent welding failure between the anode plate and an anode current-collector plate as far as possible and achieve a reduction of manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: The belt-like anode plate 16 is coated with an anode active substance 24, excluding a crushed part 26 formed on one end side of the width direction, and the belt-like cathode plate 18 is coated with a cathode active substance 32, excluding a non-coated part 34 arranged on one end side of the width direction. To the crushed part 26, a wire material 28 having a circular cross-sectional configuration is welded, protruding from the top of the crushed part 26, the crushed part 26 and the non-coated part 34 are oriented to the opposite direction from each other to wind the anode plate 16 and the cathode plate 18, and the wire material 28 is welded to an anode current-collector plate 36. |
