摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optically anisotropic body film with high wavelength dispersion of retardation and capable of controlling the wavelength dispersion and a liquid crystal display device using the optically anisotropic body film with an excellent black and white display obtainable and with slight viewing angle dependence. SOLUTION: [1] The optically anisotropic body film contains a polymer and a compound having no absorption peak in at least two or more kinds of regions in the visible ray region and having absorption peaks in the ultraviolet rays region. The optically anisotropic body film is characterized by having 50-3,000 nm retardation of the film (measured at 546 nm wavelength) and by having >=1.07 of α value of the film defined by the equation (1), α=RF/RD... (1) [in the equation RF is the retardation value measured at the wavelength corresponding to the hydrogen F-line (486 nm wavelength) and RD is the retardation value measured at the wavelength corresponding to the sodium D-line (589 nm wavelength)]. [2] The liquid crystal display device uses the optically anisotropic body film described in [1].
