PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal adapter capable of receiving an incoming call even in the off-hook state of a communication terminal to be connected to the terminal adapter and receiving only a call incoming from the terminal of a specified caller. SOLUTION: This terminal adapter is provided with a line control circuit 101 for exchanging various messages with an ISDN line network, a dial memory circuit 102 for registering specified caller information, an LCD 103 for displaying incoming notice information, an LCD control circuit 104 for controlling display on the LCD 103, a hook detecting circuit 105 for detecting the hook state of the communication terminal to be connected, and a control circuit 106 for performing required instructions to the line control circuit 101 and the LCD control circuit 104 while referring to the hook state of the communication terminal to be connected and the specified caller information.
