PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tensile tester capable of accurately measuring mechanical properties, etc., of a test piece by preventing measured values by tensile test from being affected by the gravity acting on holders for fixing the test piece. SOLUTION: This tensile tester is equipped with a holder 2 for holding and fixing one end of the test piece for tensile test piece and a movable-side holder 3 for holding the other end of the test piece to displace the test piece by applying a tensile load. This tester is further equipped with a means no cause the holder 3 to levitate in a non-containing manner.
