PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video conference terminal that controls the ratio of a voice band shared in the total communication band so as to enhance the quality of an image. SOLUTION: The video conference terminal is provided with a multiplexer/ demultiplexer 300A that multiplexes voice, image and data and demultiplexes the voice, image and data from multiplexed information, a voice encoder 221, an image encoder 421, a voice coding data buffer 231 that temporarily stores voice coded data outputted from the voice encoder, an image coding data buffer 431 that temporarily stores image coded data outputted from the image encoder, and a voice coding optimizing management section 201 that controls a coding rate of the voice encoder on the basis of a size of the image coded data detected based on the capacity in use in the voice coded data buffer and a voice data coding rate detected by the capacity used in the voice coded data buffer. |
