<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the manufacturing method of an optical wavelength conversion element, capable of forming uniform periodic polarization inversion structure on a ferroelectric crystal substrate which is singularly polarized and has a nonlinear optical effect with a low applied voltage and capable of manufacturing the element with high yield and, moreover, to provide the manufacturing method of the element capable of forming the uniform periodic polarization inversion structure even in insulation liquid and capable of manufacturing the element with high yield. SOLUTION: A comb-shaped electrode and a planar electrode are attached respectively on both surfaces of a MgO-LiNbO3 substrate and the substrate is immersed in the insulation liquid and in a state in which a substrate temperature is maintained at a room temperature, and the planar electrode is grounded and the pulse voltage of, for example, +0.75 kV is applied for one 1 second so that the comb-shaped electrode becomes a positive potential, and after that the optical wavelength conversing element is manufactured by forming the periodic polarization inversion structure while grounding the comb-shaped electrode and applying the pulse voltage 2 of, for example, -3.25 kV for 10 seconds so that the planar electrode becomes a negative potential.</p> |
