PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charger that efficiently charges a plurality of batteries, whose residual capacities are different. SOLUTION: This charger, which charges a plurality of batteries one after the other, is provided with a plurality of charging ports, each having a charging terminal to which a battery is connected, a voltage detecting part that detects the voltage of the connected battery, a charging part that charges the connected battery, and a display part that detects the state of the charging part and displays the charged condition of the battery. The charger is also provided with a CPU and a memory, that control the operations of the charging ports. Charging is effected in order of the batteries-having larger voltage, by making the CPU control the operation of the charging part of each charging port, based on the voltage data detected by the voltage detecting part of each charging port.
