SOLUTION FOR DENSITY CLASSIFICATION, DENSITY CLASSIFYING METHOD USING THE SAME, AND DENSITY DISTRIBUTION MEASURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for conveniently performing density classification and density distribution measurement of a large number of solid specimens by using what is called a sink-and-float method in which a solution for density classification, that is, a liquid with a specific density, is prepared, the specimens are put into the solution to sort them into ones that sink and ones that float, and to provide a solution for density classification resisting to air bubble deposition on the surfaces of the specimens when the specimens are put into the solution for density classification. SOLUTION: This solution is used for density classification using a sink-and- float method and is a mixed solution comprising water, a hydrophilic alcohol, and at least one kind of an inorganic compound selected among a group of bromides and nitrates of metals belonging to the alkaline metals or alkaline earth metals. The content of the hydrophilic alcohol is 1 to 50 wt.% relative to water. This solution is used in the density classifying method and in the density distribution measuring method.
