PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide s horizontal type scroll compressor capable of changing to an internal high pressure type and an internal pressure type, restricting an oil supply to a compression chamber at the time of internal low pressure operation and enhancing a reliability. SOLUTION: An electric motor 6 and a compression part 7 are disposed at right and left side in a closed container 1a and a stationary scroll 2 and a rotation scroll 3 are engaged with each other to form a compression chamber 7b at the compression part 7 The rotation scroll 3 is retained between a main frame 4 and the stationary scroll 2. A cylindrical recessed part continued at a rear surface center to a communication hole 4a communicating with the compression chamber 7b is formed as a valve seat 4b below the electric motor chamber 6a side of the main frame 4. An oil passage 4c for low pressure is formed on an upper portion of inner periphery of the valve seat 4b. Whereas, an oil passage for high pressure axially penetrating through a center and having a throttle function and a cylindrical valve element 5 having an annular accommodation part for accommodating a coil spring at a rear side of outer periphery portion. The valve element 5 is slidably mounted to the valve seat 4b with the coil spring.
