PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compactly structured active optical connector having electric connecting terminals and an optical transmission line, with which electric/optic conversion is performed by connecting a signal from an electric connector to a light emitting element and with which optic/electric conversion is performed by coupling an optical signal from the optical transmission line with a light receiving element. SOLUTION: In the active optical connector, an optical waveguide 108, which is formed in a photonic crystal structure 103, is arranged adjacently to a mutual electric/optic converting element 102, and perform optical coupling between the mutual electric/optic converting element 102 and a waveguide medium 105 for optical transmission. |
