摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a binder for manufacturing an electrode of a lithium ion secondary battery having superior electro-chemical stability. SOLUTION: The binder for the electrode of the lithium ion secondary battery is composed of a structure unit (a), constituted from mono-functional ethylene unsaturated carboxylic acid ester monomer and a structural unit derived from an ethylene unsaturated nitrile monomer. With the structural unit (a)/the structural unit (b)=99 to 1.5 (wt. ratio), a total of the structural unit (a) and the structural unit (b) is 70 wt.% or higher. They are composed of a polymer, that substantially contains neither a structural unit derived from an ethylene hydrocarbon monomer, nor a structural unit derived of a di-ene monomer and a structural unit derived from an ethylene unsaturated carboxylic acid. Also, a battery is manufactured, using this binder.
