PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relay receptacle connector which conforms to IEEE specifications for high frequency transmission by enhancing the shield function in an insertion port of a tip into which a counter part connector (a plug connector) is inserted. SOLUTION: The relay connector 1 consists of an insulator body 2 wherein the insertion port 3 of the counterpart connector is arranged at the tip part, plural contacts 4, metal covers 7 to 9 for a shield which cover the outside of the insulator body 2 and a connection leg part 6 of the contact 4 and the whole exposed part of the electric wire and which have a ferrule part 23 pinching the shield layer of the cable, and insulation cover housings 10, 11 which is mounted on the outside of the metal cover 7 to 9 for shielding. The first metal cover 7 covering the outside of the insulator body 2 is formed in a cylindrically-shaped body 15 whose tip part structure is integral, and the cylindrically-shaped body 15 protrudes from the insertion port 3 of the insulator body 2. |
