PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission system using a transmitter and a receiver where many information signals can be included in one set of collected information signal units so as to efficiently transmit the information signals. SOLUTION: The transmitter is provided with a compression means 4 that compresses the quantity of information of received information signals and with a synchronizing signal attachment means 5 that collects a plurality of units of output signals from the compression means 4 and attaches a synchronizing signal to the collected units, and transmits the output signal of the synchronizing signal attachment means 5. On the other hand, the receiver is provided with a synchronizing signal elimination means 7 that receives the synchronizing signal and the compressed information signals in a plurality of the units as one set of collected units and eliminates the synchronizing signal from the received collected units and with an expansion means 11 that expands the compressed video signal in the output signal from the synchronizing signal elimination means 7 by each unit.
