PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size and weight of a rocker arm for high speed and attain high rigidity of the rocker arm so as to cope with high rotation. SOLUTION: A rocker arm 1 for low speed is journalled to a rocker shaft 5 to be rocked, the rocker arm 2 for high speed is journalled to the arm 1 to be rocked, and both arms 1, 2 are provided with a switching mechanism for switching between connection and disconnection. A rocking support shaft 20 of the rocker arm 2 for high speed is passed through an arm part 12 in a region apart from the rocker shaft 5 toward a cam abutting part separately from the rocker shaft 5, and stopped by caulking. A torsion coil spring 27 as a lost motion spring of the rocker arm 2 for high speed is disposed in the periphery of the rocking support shaft 20.
