摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the positional precision of a shadow mask structure, when mounted on a color image receiving tube, providing for higher definition of an image. SOLUTION: The shadow mask structure 33 opposed to a fluorescent face 31 of a panel 23 is formed by welding an approximately rectangular mask body 34 to a framed mask frame 36. The mask body 34 has a number transparent holes on an effective face 34a corresponding to the shape of the inner face of the panel 23 for passing electron beams Br, Bg, Bb therethrough. The mask frame 36 has a side wall at a long side and a side wall at a short side. Grooved slit portions 51 are respectively provided in almost central portions of these side walls in the longitudinal direction. Spring members 45 provided at four angular corners of the mask frame 36 are engaged with stud pins 48 provided on the panel 23 for holding the shadow mask structure 33 in position. The slit portions 51 are used for absorbing the flexion of the mask frame 36 due to thermal stress in production processes, thus inhibiting the deformation of the mask body 34.
