Carbon foam for use in fuel cell is produced in process comprising: (a) production of polyimide foam; and (b) pyrolysis of produced polyimide foam at 1000 deg C. Independent claim is also included for fuel cell comprising layers of carbon foam (Mc) obtained using process as claimed and structure consisting of electrode, membrane (M) and another electrode (EME).
