The invention concerns an installation for automatic preparation of samples by liquid/solid column extraction. The invention is characterised in that the extracting device comprises on either side of the columns (3), a controllable valve (4) for switching from a column (3) to another to activate a column (3) adapted to ensure extracting when another column (3) is not operational, each switch valve (4) being connected to a common controllable direction reversing valve (5) designed to impose a flow direction on the fluid in any one of the columns (3) of the extracting device and return it to said valve (5) for dispensing the treated fluid to a selective circuit either to be rejected, or to be analysed.
