<p>To produce a structured band of warps at a warping machine, according to a pattern, the various warp yarns are drawn from a rotating creel by synchronized rotating yarn guides. The yarns not required for the warp pattern are wound around an auxiliary unit near the drum axis, and removed until they are needed. They are taken from the side away from the creel at the same average speed as the belts which carry the required warp yarns. The system to give a patterned band of warps has an auxiliary transport mechanism for the removal of the unwanted yarns, using a wire or a plastics cable. An Independent claim is included for a warping machine with a yarn guide for each warp yarn (21). The guide moves between an active position (a,b) where it is laid on a transport belt (2), and an inactive position (c) where an unwanted warp yarn (21') for the pattern slides through the gap (23) between the carrier (15) for the yarn guide (14) and the transport belt. An auxiliary yarn transport (24) is moved near the drum axis, as a core for the unwanted yarn to wind around it. Preferred Features: The auxiliary yarn transport wire/cable extends between a supply roll (25) at the opposite side of the rotating creel (7) to the drum (1) and a drive (26) at the side of the drum away from the creel. The auxiliary yarn transport is moved at the same speed as the warp yarn transport belts, to carry the unwanted yarns into a waste container (28). The yarn guides are on adjustable mountings at the carriers, and are supported by levers (18) which rotate on rotating arms (17) around the drum axis. The yarn guide movements are set by a control between the active and inactive positions. The drum has at least one lateral wall with a radial slit, with the auxiliary yarn transport wire/cable around it with a gap between them. The slit has an open and at the circumference of the lateral wall, which bridges the gap between the cutting rods and the following lateral rods in the direction of rotation of the yarn guide carriers.</p> |
