A process for preparing propylene polymer comprising contacting, under polymerisation conditions, propylene and optionally ethylene, with a catalyst system comprising a bridged metallocene and a suitable activating cocatalyst, said process being characteised by reducing the concentration of hydrogen formed during the polymerisation reaction.
